Spring Markets featuring Mama's Locally

The spring weather is finally here (feels more like summer - but hey I'll take it).  One of the things I look most forward to in the spring is the opening of all the markets.  Our very own local Farmer's Market begins this weekend and I can hardly wait to take the kiddies on our weekly adventures through the town.  We usually start off at the market and then stop in at some of the local shops.  Last year they offered face painting and music in the park once a month.  I'm hoping they'll do the same this summer. https://www.boltonfarmersmarket.ca/ Another Market I'm very excited to share with you is the Mama's Locally Pop-up Market .  It happens once a month at the Bolton Community Centre and gives local vendors the opportunity to showcase their stuff.  Many of the vendors sell items geared towards babies and young children but there are several other tables featuring artwork, jewellery, bath and body items, food and women's fashion...each month

This is 3!

A few weeks ago our little guy turned 3.  He celebrated with two parties, one with his family and one with his friends - and of course all of their siblings.  We requested that at least one parent stay in order to help with supervision.  Although we did limit the number of people he could invite we ended up having quite a few guests, but thankfully the weather held out and we spent almost the entire afternoon outside.  We actually had very little clean-up in the toy department because the kiddies kept busy jumping on the trampoline and running around the backyard.  It was such a fun day for our little superhero Jack...he still talks non-stop about the celebration. Here's a little breakdown of how the day went: Inspiration Almost everything I created for his party was inspired from images on Pinterest. Theme Jack chose a Spiderman theme this year.  For weeks he was going back and forth between LEGO, Paw Patrol and Spiderman.  Finally with a little convincing

Mother's Day Weekend

I hope everyone enjoyed a wonderful Mother's Day weekend!  Ours was jam packed...birthday parties, family time, dinners out and lots of outdoor play.  The weather was perfect, warm and sunny!  My hubby had a long list of things he wanted to get done around the house but needless to say, nothing got done - we were so busy!  Normally we spend our Sundays at least trying to get ready for the week ahead but yesterday was a complete write-off.  Our house is an absolute mess right now and I should probably be cleaning it but instead I'm writing.  I've been having some issues with our Internet - which is why it's been almost 2 weeks since my last blog.  I'm still not really sure what the issue is...but it seems to be working right now which is why I'm typing and not cleaning ha!   We were lucky enough to celebrate Mother's Day with both our moms (Grandma and Nana).  We had a picnic lunch with one and dinner out with the other.  My own kiddies made me

9 Things I'm grateful I did while on Maternity Leave

I'm so grateful I've had the opportunity to spend 4 of the last 6 years at home with my babies but it's true that all good things must come to end.  It's crazy to think that in the very near future I'll be returning to my career outside of the home.  If you had asked me a year ago to anticipate my feelings in regards to this "end of an era", as I sometimes refer to it, I probably would have avoided the thought all together.  I've never liked endings and I use that word very broadly...I even had trouble finishing a good book when I was in high school.  So you can imagine how I might feel when something I'm actually experiencing comes to end.  Well, when it comes to my 4th (and final) mat leave I'm surprisingly feeling pretty good about it.  When I try to analyze why that is, I 've determined a number of reasons: I love babies but my body can't take another pregnancy I never felt as though my family was complete un
