Glow Barrie

It all began while I was scrolling through Instagram one evening.  An advertisement popped up promoting Glow Barrie.  It definitely looked intriguing so of course I had to click on it.  Well it didn’t take long to convince me…within 15 minutes I had chosen a date and purchased tickets for our entire family to attend.  At 40% off how could I resist?  I really didn’t know anything about the event other than its location, but based on the photos I was certain it was going to be a great night. As the date quickly approached my hubby and I began talking about it more and more in front of the kids.   It was even more exciting because this outing marked the official start to our Holiday season!   On the day of the event we dressed the kids in their comfy holiday clothing, packed a few snacks and headed north to Barrie for what proved to be a spectacular evening. The drive was relatively easy, although we took several side roads in order to avoid the 400 northbound traffic.

Merry Christmas

One more day until Christmas and for once I think I'm actually ready.  Posting this blog was one of the last things to check off on my To Do List.  Now it's time to truly enjoy the next few days...hangout with family, watch Christmas movies, bake cookies, visit with friends and enjoy a drink or two (probably more than two ha!). A couple weeks ago I posted our Holiday Line-up and since then we've been busy checking things off that list…here’s a little photo preview, plus some other highlights! Kortright Magical Christmas Forrest Family Photo Day This is seriously one of my favourite photos from our Christmas shoot. NUVO Dance Convention Party Time! At the Nutcracker Ballet with Nana and Grandma, and Mommy. Hudson's Piano Recital Jack's Dance Open House. The Brown Family Christmas Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas! xo

Last Minute Ideas for your Christmas Elf

A little mid-week blog post…Just like last year I wanted to share some quick and easy last minute Elf on the Shelf ideas.   I totally stole some of these ideas from friends and family but tis the season for sharing!   Enjoy!! Ball Pit!  Elves only! I've been doing a lot of yoga lately so I thought it would be fun if our Elf joined in on the fun! Our little guy Jack loved this one!  He wanted Timbit to wash all his cars! I've seen this one used a few times and I think it's a great idea!  The kids were really excited to fill the box and once it was full, they started a second one. They kiddies played tic tac toe all day!  And then they ate the marshmallows (I used edible ink). We let our oldest three kids finish the pack of bubblegum!  So of course this idea was a huge hit.  The count-down to Christmas is on...Enjoy the rest of the week!

Christmas Minis

I had a great turnout this year for my Christmas photoshoots.   I owe it all to one of my girlfriends, who every year asks me if I plan on taking photos.   She's the reason I do what I do.  For years she has trusted me with taking her family pictures and I am grateful to her for always encouraging me to keep doing what I love doing...despite how time consuming the entire process can be.  It’s a lot of work to set-up, organize the day, make sure my own family is occupied and then once the shoots are finished, I’m left with hours of editing. Regardless of all the work, the day went really well.   My own kiddies were happily entertained by my hubby, my mom and of course all the visitors in our home (they knew quite a few of the families). Surprisingly the weather held out, everyone was on time and their sessions ran smoothly (for the most part).   When taking pictures of young children you learn to just go with the flow…sometimes the best photos happen in those moments you
