Our Easter Long Weekend

I feel like it's the start of party season in our home.  Over the next 2 months we'll be hosting 5 parties and just last weekend we kicked off the celebrations with Easter dinner...25 people arrived at our house and thankfully after days of rain, the sun also decided to make an appearance.  All was well except that the Leafs lost...but we still had lots of good reasons to celebrate.  In addition to all the Easter festivities, my hubby's grandparents were celebrating their 65th Wedding Anniversary (#couplegoals) and my uncle turned 60! The entire weekend was a huge success from our very early morning Easter egg hunt to our 5 course family dinner...and through it all, I'd say my hubby and I felt pretty organized this year!  We even managed to get some serious spring cleaning done...hosting a party always puts me into a cleaning frenzy but at least I end up with a clean home (until of course the guests arrive -ha!).  All in all everyone had a fantastic day...

Happy Easter

I'm posting this a day early, but tomorrow we'll be hosting dinner for 27 people!  Despite the fact that I'm feeling a little overwhelmed with the amount of things I still have left to do, I'm also really excited and can hardly wait to see our family...and surprise a very special couple with something we've been planning for weeks! Today these little kiddies would like to wish you all a very Happy Easter!  I'm thankful the rain held up for a few minutes and allowed me to capture these shots.  Fingers crossed we'll have a little more sun tomorrow. Enjoy the rest of your long weekend! Katie xo

Our Tiny Dancer

What an exciting week it's been for our oldest daughter Georgia.  Last Sunday she competed in her first ever dance competition at the Living Arts Centre in Mississauga, and just two days ago she had her second one in Alliston.  It was a busy few days, but despite the craziness and all the running around it was honestly such an exciting time for her and our family.  To see our little girl on stage performing for hundreds of people...and not just dancing, but truly performing in every sense of the word from her facial expressions, to her constant and contagious smile, to her ability to overcome her anxieties and dance like she was born to be on stage.  It was truly a memorable few days. In the the weeks and months leading up to her first competition I really had no idea what to expect...I don't think any of the first time parents really did.  We had all seen them dance inside the studio on a few occasions, but I'm sure we all stood there thinking the sam...
