Moving Forward

What a crazy March Break that was??!  But crazy doesn't even really do it justice😜  To be honest, I'm trying not to think about what this week has in store šŸ¤”.  But at this point, there's really isn't anything that would surprise me.  I suppose it's probably best if we try to take it one day at a time...seems like the best option right now. As we transition into this new (hopefully temporary) way of life I'm feeling so many mixed emotions...some days I'm motivated, excited and even hopeful of what the future holds, other days I don't even feel like getting dressed (count your blessings that you don't have to be around me on those days).  Then there's all those days in between, where it's just been a rollercoaster of emotions.  One minute I'm happy and the next moment I want to curl up in a ball and go back to bed.  The good news...I don't think my kids have noticed much.  They've literally had the best week of their ...

Valentine's Day Traditions

Today is Valentine's day and for the first time ever I was ready!  All I had left to do was set the kitchen table for breakfast this morning, but that had to wait until the kiddies were in bed last night and sleeping.  Our Valentine's day traditions have certainly changed over the years but some things will always stay the same... 1.  We always leave small gifts for the kids to open in the morning.  Anything from books to clothing, games or small toys.  We never buy them chocolate because I find they always get so much from other family members.  This year I bought them a bag of candy from Squish at Upper Canada Mall.  I'm a total fan of what they sell and what they stand for.  They pride themselves on using all natural ingredients whenever possible...some of their candy is even vegan! 2.  As usual we made non edible gift for all the kids at school.  This year we had to make over 70 gift bags!  Hudson's grade 3 cla...

A New Year

Happy New Year!  A couple weeks ago I was scrolling through Facebook on my phone (I still haven't bought a computer🤣) and this message popped up... I literally laughed outloud because all too often I've been able to relate.  January has always been that month that feels like it's never going to end.  Looking back I can recall several days being stuck indoors in the middle of winter, with four little ones, trying to keep them busy and reminding myself that one day I'm going to miss all of this.  Some days, definitely more than others seemed endless. This year I was grateful to start back to work almost immediately following the Christmas break.  As a supply teacher it's not always predictable but I couldn't have been happier when I was called in to work on the first Monday back.  And even better, it was at the school where I usually spend most of my days.  Just being able to catch up with the staff and students most certainly lightened...

Summer Come And Gone

Just over a month ago I sat down at my computer to begin writing my blog and sharing photos of our summer adventures.  It was then I realized my keyboard on my computer was no longer working.  After weeks of contemplating having it fixed or getting a new one...I've decided it's time to move on.  I've had my computer for nearly seven years which I am thankful for.  In that time it has treated me very well, with the exception of a few minor issues.  But with that being said, I think it is safe to say its days are now numbered.  To make a long story short I haven't been blogging because I haven't had a computer to type on.  We have been looking at new ones and although I've narrowed it down to two that I'm very interested in, we've decided to wait until Black Friday in hopes of getting some special pricing.  So until then, I've patiently been postponing sharing my blog.  However, this past weekend my friendly neighbour (who also happens...
